St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Elementary School is dedicated to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. By embracing His teachings, the pastor, administration, faculty, auxiliary staff, parents and students serve and respect one another out of love for Our Lord. Working together, we seek to develop each child spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically, and socially, utilizing each individual's gifts and talents within an atmosphere of peace.

Students are encouraged to develop personal responsibility, interpersonal skills, sportsmanship, leadership, and service. We strive to incorporate the practice of Christian values and to foster a sense of justice in everyday life.

At St. Hilary of Poitiers School, knowledge is viewed as a gift from God. We encourage our students to discover and develop their individual talents and potential to the fullest. Academic development is approached through a content, as well as a process-oriented, curriculum. The means of fostering pedagogical growth vary according to the age and readiness of the student. Our goal is to stimulate and challenge independent critical thinkers. Thus, the students are taught to view their education as an ongoing process that will enable them to become informed Christians in tomorrow's society - Christians who have been exposed to our peace principles and conflict resolution skills.

Serving as role models, our teachers lead the students. The teacher/student relationship, a vital element in the growth of the whole child, nurtures self-worth and responsibility. The teachers emulate Christian values and principles. These qualities are demonstrated in all aspects of our daily encounters with the students. As educators, we also strive to bring out the best in our colleagues by lending support, sharing ideas, and fostering professional growth. By our dedication and enthusiasm, we give witness to what it means to be a disciple of Christ.

Realizing that both home and school are integral to our faith-centered community, parents and teachers work together to help each child recognize and discover Christ in all people. The St. Hilary of Poitiers School Community understands the importance of preparing our children to be educated, involved, and peace-filled citizens of the world, who comprehend that the road to peace is a life-long journey reached through understanding and accepting diversity.
